Rehabilitation Services are an integral part of the hospital's commitment to children. Rehabilitation therapy for children from infancy through teens is provided in the hospital and at the outpatient pediatric specialty clinics.
A highly skilled and professional Rehabilitation team offers a holistic approach to care that encourages family participation.
Rehabilitation services include:
- Speech therapy: language testing, swallowing studies, thinking skills, stuttering, voice therapy, oral motor/feeding treatment
- Occupational Therapy: hand coordination, printing and cursive writing, self-care skills, splinting for hands and feet, visual motor perception, sensory motor skills
- Physical Therapy: balance and posture, walking and movement therapy, strength and coordination, bracing for ankles and feet
- Audiology: hearing evaluation, middle ear testing, otoacoustic emissions testing
- Developmental Therapy: early intervention and identification for traumatic injuries, premature and low birth weight, genetic syndromes, developmental delays, failure to thrive, cerebral palsy, near-drowning
