MIS 201: Principles of Management Information Systems

The purpose of this course is to equip students with a broad understanding of the key concepts of management information systems; management ‎‎information systems and operation; strategy and information system; system in solving ‎‎management problems; information technology: machines, information technology ‎programs, ‎communications, databases and file processing, organization of systems ‎automation (offices ‎automation).‎ They will gain practical experience with office automation. Students will be ‎trained to conduct data analysis in spreadsheets and data management in databases. ‎

It introduces the concepts about Information Systems (IS), the use of IS in business, information needs of different levels of management, business intelligent tools and the role of databases in business intelligence. It also discusses IT infrastructure and e-commerce.
