Course Description

Special Functions: The Gamma, Bessel Functions, Legendre Functions, Spherical Harmonics,  Hermite Functions , Laguerre Functions.

Fourier series: Applications of Fourier series.

Integral transforms and their inverses: Fourier integral transforms and their inverses, Laplace integral transforms. and their inverses.
Application of integral transforms to the solutions of some elementary differential equations in physics: Wave equation, Heat equation.
 

Course objectives:

The course aims to give students more advanced topics in mathematical physics.

Course outcomes:

The Main ILOs are:
1- Some deep points in mathematical physics, in particular: analytical, elementary and    special functions.
2- Generic skills such as communication, problem solving.
