English 111: Writing Good Sentences (Basic Language Skills)

This course introduces students majoring in English to basic sentence structures. This introduction is gradual; it starts from familiarizing the student with parts of speech (such as nouns, pronouns, and verbs) to enabling him/her to produce grammatically acceptable sentences in the English language. Furthermore, this course is meant to give a solid background for upcoming writing and composition courses English majors take as part of their academic plan.

Course Objectives
By the end of the semester, students should be able to use and/or produce:  
1. accurate sentence structures; 2. correct grammatical forms; and 3. proper punctuations.
