Content and objectives |
The Listening component of this course aims at further improving and consolidating listening skills. The student is trained to listen and comprehend authentic recorded speech samples, which are more advanced in content than the material covered in Level 3. The major part of the course incorporates recorded materials including numbers, figures, dates, statistics, and a variety of discourses. Some of the main objectives of the course are to train the students: 1) to extract the main ideas and supporting details to understand the meaning of words as used in the text, 2) to recognize the tone and rhythm of the speaker’s speech, 3) to understand the meaning of grammatical usage and structure of discourse, and 4) to acquire the skill of note taking.

-In-Terms= 60

FMarks will be deducted for language mistakes (spelling, grammatical, and vocabulary mistakes).
