Strategic management
Strategic management is concerned with the question "what do general mangers (CEO's) do?" It centers on making the strategic choices for the company and managing its competitive position in order to ensure its survival and success.
This course will equip you with the frameworks, tools, and concepts you need to analyze and understand the sources of superior performance. It is an integrative capstone course designed to help students to study and experience sets of multifunctional problems that confront top management. This course requires the use of knowledge and skills in multiple functions (i.e., accounting, finance, marketing, etc.) to study organizational problems within the context a dynamic environment.
OBJECTIVES
  • To introduce students to the puzzle of strategic issues and problems.
  • To acquaint students with the peculiarity of top management as opposed to functional management (what do general managers do?).
  • To actively increase students' involvement in the exploration of current ideas, issues, problems and techniques associated with processes of Strategic Management.
  • To familiarize students with the current literature and theories of Strategic Management.
