Dr Abdelhabib Semlali is a assistant professor in the field of molecular biology, immunology and cell biology. He got his Ph.D in France, followed by a postdoctoral training for 7 years in laval university in Canada. He reached King Saud University as a assistant professor in 2011. He is a member of GRC (Genome Research Chair), established in 2010, this chair focuses on establishing key core facilities and the development of multidisciplinary research programs that provide leading-edge research in molecular and cell biology, biochemistry and bioinformatics. Dr Abdelhabib semlali is interested to the molecular and genetic aspects of Toll like receptors ( TLRs) and human beta defensins ( hBDs) and their involvement in cancer development and promotion (Oral, colon and ovarian cancer). He is also a member of the research group of Oral Ecology at laval university. This group investigate the effect of cigarette smoke and oral diseases as periodontitis. Dr Semlali's research program is supported by grant agencies such as IRSC and the National Plan for Sciences & Technology.
