Dr W Aslam Farooq did his Ph.D from Imerial college London in 1992 in the field of Megneto Optical  Spectroscopy using tunable dye laser and VUV laser beam. Presently he is working as Professor at Physics and Astronomy  Department King Saud University Riyadh Saudi Arabia. 

Dr Farooq has published 150 papers in ISI journals. He has copleted one project from NPST regarding Quantum Dot Solar Cell and currently involve in two projects from Deanship of research College of Science King Saud University. Dr Farooq has vast experience in laser applications ans nano technology. He is co-founder of Pakistan Institute of Laser and Optics, Islamabad Pakistan. Currently he is working in laser applications, synthesis and characterzation of nano structured materials.He is collaborating with the following universities
