Dr. rer. nat Elsayed Ahmed Elsayed Ahmed

Bio: 
Dr. rer. Nat. Elsayed Ahmed Elsayed, is working as an Assistant Professor of Industrial Biotechnology, Zoology Department, Bioproducts Research Chair, College of Science, King Saud University, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as a Researcher in the Natural and Microbial Products Department, National Research Centre, Dokki, Cairo, Egypt. Beside his regular academic duties, Dr. Elsayed has vast scientific interests in the fields of Bioprocess development, Fermentation, Biocatalysts, Development and optimization of the production of primary and secondary metabolites as well as proteins by microorganisms, mammalian and plant cells in laboratory- and semi-industrial scale bioreactors. Dr. Elsayed has published many specialized articles in industrial biotechnology field, and has one technology patent in USA and Europe for the separation of mammalian cells in perfusion bioreactors with hydrocyclones. Dr. Elsayed received his B.Sc. in Microbiology (Ain Shams University, Egypt), M.Sc. in Biochemistry (Cairo University, Egypt), Dr. rer. Nat. in Industrial Biotechnology (TU Braunschweig, Germany, 2005). After PhD, he worked as a Post Doc. In Miltenyi Biotec GmbH, Germany, for developing the fermentative production of recombinant proteins by mammalian cells in perfusion bioreactors. Afterwards, he joined the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) as an Assistant Professor.
