CHS456 JOHALI NHEPC2013_2017 NUTRITION HEALTH EDUCATION AND PATIENT COUNSELING
This course aims at introducing students to the theories and skills necessary to design and implement nutrition education programs. It shows how can nutrition education facilitates dietary changes in a group of people. It introduces students to nutrition education basics, definition, history, aims field and challenges. The course introduces students to the science of Nutrition Health Education and Patient Counseling (NHEPC), how to plan to practice NHEPC. The students will probe roots of nutrition -health-education, define related terms, understand the basic scientific theories staring from personality nature, interests and needs, motivate, interact and exchange and promote patients to accept NHE messages, how to write educational objectives and how to choose appropriate methods and technologies, why and how to plan for quality of healthful life patients, mainly with dietary
