Human Language Technologies (IT469) [ Spring 2022]

In this course, students will be exposed to methods for processing human language text and the underlying computational properties of natural languages. Students will explore natural language knowledge at different levels. The course also introduces students to evaluation techniques in the field of human language technologies. In addition to building applications to process written and/or spoken language.

Course Objectives:
1. Describe the knowledge in human language processing (phonetics, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics and discourse). (SO.7)

2. Analyze the problems related to human language technologies. (SO.1)

3. apply the algorithms of human language understanding and generation. (SO.2)

4. apply the evaluation techniques in the field of human language technologies. (SO.2)

5. develop different human language technologies and applications. (SO.2)

6. describe the language processing challenges and solutions. (SO.7)
