World Literature
Students are familiarized with notable authors from non-English countries who were influential through their works, which placed them in a great status in many cultures around the world, such as Fyodor Doestoyvsky, Leo Tolstoy, Franz Kafka, Chinua Achibe, Najib Mahfouz, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Yasunari Kawambata, etc. This course aims to broaden the students' horizon, especially those who are students of English literature, in order to avoid the centralization of English literature due to being onlyconcentrated on it. The course also problematize the notion of "world literature" in criticism with the aim of equipping the students with the skills of positive interactions with world cultures through literature.
