Mathematical Modeling for Information Systems

This course offers an introduction to mathematical modeling methods and techniques. The goal is for the students to have a solid mathematical foundation in modeling that allows them to apply mathematical modeling techniques to challenging information system problems. The course covers the following topics: introduction to mathematical modeling for information systems, linear programming, and integer linear programming, applications of linear and integer programming models in information systems, network models, inventory models, and queuing models.
