introduction/brief CV

Despite the changing face of chemistry, the importance of catalysis- the ability to easily produce industrial important intermediates - has not diminished. There is always demand for easily prepared, better performing, better yielding materials that can be used in more than one way in order to meet the present day challenges of demand and also address environmental concerns. Our group is interested in the development of new catalyst for the important organic transformations, which are mostly high value industrial chemicals such as benzaldehyde, propene oxide, acrylic acid. One of our key aims is to be able to produce the desired catalyst using greener methods such as employing plant extracts. The other area of research is focused on graphene based nano-composites, prepared by the group for various applications in the area of catalysis, sensors and energy.
