Professor Akhter is a US citizen and has twenty-five years of experience in strategic leadership, teaching & learning, applied research, programs & curriculum development, and accreditation in higher education.

He has an earned Doctorate, Master and Bachelor’s degrees in the digital business discipline from accredited universities of the United Kingdom and the United States.

He has served at Colgate University, Baruch College, Zayed University, University of Liverpool Online, and King Saud University.

He has partnered with deans, chairs, and faculty to provide strategic leadership of the College and ensure effective management of all its resources. 

He teaches information systems courses through hybrid pedagogies at undergraduate, and graduate levels.

His scholarly work on digital business strategies has published in high impact factor journals, including Journal of International Business Research, International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Sustainability Issues, and International Journal of Advanced and Applied Sciences. Moreover, I am one of the founders of the Web Services Symposium in UAE that highlighted the latest research and technological advances in the area of web services.
