Professor Akhter is a US citizen and has twenty-five years of experience in academic administration, teaching, and scholarship in higher education. He has worked and grew up in the diverse educational, multi-cultural, and socioeconomic environment to develop partnerships and research activities.

He has an earned Doctorate, Master and Bachelor’s degrees in business management discipline from accredited universities of the United Kingdom and the United States.

He provides academic leadership in course development and delivery, curriculum, and mentoring junior academics.  He has substantial experience in supervision of Master and Ph.D dissertations at Baruch College, Zayed University, University of Liverpool Online, and King Saud University.

Professor Akhter has successfully supervised the operational aspects of AACSB and ABET accreditation process in several institutes. He teaches information systems courses through hybrid pedagogies at undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate levels.

Professor Akhter is an internationally renowned scholar and his scholarly work on entrepreneurship and business information systems have published in high impact factor journals, including Journal of International Business Research, International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Sustainability Issues, and International Journal of Advanced and Applied Sciences.
