Aims and goals/ skills

of the course:

The techniques of Scaling, Root planning, polishing along with

application of chemotherapeutic local delivery solutions to the

teeth, as well as other clinical skills preformed on patients.

1. Student will Perform oral prophylaxis procedures on all

types of patient populations

2. Student will provide patient dental health education

strategies to maximize impact.

3. Student will be able to provide preventive procedures such

as fissure sealants ,local anaesthesia, bleaching of teeth and

other important clinical procedures dental hygienist can

perform to all types of patients.

Content of the course:

Patient care  (patient History taking, Examination,

Treatment)

 Teaching strategies involves a close supervision with

giving proper guidance whenever needed bearing in mind

the importance of building a proper knowledge, skills and

confidence in decision making and handling different

clinical situations

- Every step on patients' treatment plan will be evaluated, and all

deficiency and shortage in delivering the proper patient care will

be pointed out to the student.

Examination: e.g. written examination, presentation

Case presentation
