The Paper recommends possible improvement to street performance that would accelerate the development of the traditional urban area of Abuquier, Alexandria. Transport problems in this area are identified and evaluated. these problems include mix of transport modes and misuse of road space, inadequacy of pedestrian facilities and public transport services, and incompatibility of the main arterial road and residential streets. A direction for improvment, which includes traffic and street management and pedestrian needs, is suggested.
