Scope
Current available health care systems have major problems like accessibility, lack of portability, technologically deficient, lack of data availability that can overcome with the emergence eHealth care. The use of health information technology and the electronic exchange of clinical information promote and ensure the health care quality, patient safety, cost-efficiency, and public health. “Electronic Health (eHealth) is a relatively recent term for healthcare practice supported by electronic processes and communication”. eHealth includes Internet-enabled Healthcare Applications, Consumer Health Information, Personal Health Records, Internet-based Services (e-Pharmacy, e-Care, etc.) Electronic Health Record (EHR) Systems, Administrative and Financial Health Systems and m-health or mHealth that exchange the health information with mobile phones.

Health care providers must have the access to the health information to assist the patients where and when it is needed. In eHealth, the communication involves transferring of personal health information (PHI) from one edge of the Earth to other with the help of different types of data networks, eHealth data servers and mHealth computing devices. PHI can be accessible from local premises or from other party on different region or from cloud. At the time of data requirement, the request need to be fulfill without any delay and error.

To ensure the data and information precision the overall communication infrastructure should be reliable. Design errors, system usage problems, design reliability issues, compliance Issues, system failure and vulnerabilities in eHealth care system can lead to critical conditions or even death. Patients expect an electronic health care system that is totally reliable. The eHealth system preserves the care and to provide the errors free service to its users requires innovative methods that can lead to qualitative improvements.

This workshop is a forum for researchers, academics, and industries to debate the different issues related to reliable eHealth information system, discuss relevant theoretical and practical solutions, and explore areas related to the theory, applications, development, experiences, and evaluation studies for correct design and implementation of eHealth systems. This platform of knowledge sharing helps the eHealth, professionals how to develop, implement a fully reliable eHealth system.

Topics
Topics of the track consist of all aspects related to eHealth Information Security. They include but are not limited to:

  • Testing and verification of eHealth
  • Simulation based methods in eHealth
  • Formal methods in eHealth
  • Verification of eHealth software and equipment
  • Performance evaluation of eHealth systems
  • Open issues and surveys on testing and verification of eHealth
  • Healthcare sensors reliability
  • Patient data security and reliability
  • Fault Tolerance in eHealth
  • Vulnerability assessment
  • Security access policies and privacy issues in eHealth
  • Secured Network Architectures for eHealth
  • Secure Transmission, Processing, and Storage
  • Reliability of eHealth technologies: mHealth, WBSN.
  • Intrusion and fraud detection in eHealth systems

Paper Submission

IIEEE Healthcom 2014 Workshops: http://www.ieee-healthcom.org/cfw.html

ReHIS-2014 submission is via EDAS system. Click Link below
http://edas.info/N17521

All submissions should be written in English with a maximum paper length of six (6) IEEE style printed pages including figures, without incurring additional page charges. One (1) additional page is allowed with a charge of USD100, if accepted. Papers exceeding 7 pages will not be accepted at EDAS, nor will they be reviewed at all.

IMPORTANT IEEE POLICY ANNOUNCEMENT

The IEEE reserves the right to exclude a paper from distribution after the conference (including its removal from IEEE Xplore) if the paper is not presented.

Note: To be published in the IEEE [WORKSHOP] Workshop Proceedings and to be eligible for publication in IEEE /Xplore®/, an author of an accepted paper is required to register for the workshop and the paper must be presented by an author of that paper at the workshop unless the TPC Chair grants permission for a substitute presenter arranged in advance of the event and who is qualified both to present and answer questions. Non-refundable registration fees must be paid prior to uploading the final IEEE formatted, publication-ready version of the paper. For authors with multiple accepted papers in the workshop, one registration is valid for up to 2 papers. Papers will be published in the IEEE HEALTHCOM 2014 Workshop Proceedings and submitted to IEEE /Xplore®/.

Evaluation Process
Papers will be evaluated for originality, significance, clarity, and soundness. Per Healthcom policy, except for invited papers, all papers will be reviewed by at least three independent reviewers. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings with an ISBN.

Best Student Paper
The Best Student Paper will be awarded at the conference. To be eligible, the student must be the sole author of the paper, or the first author and primary contributor. (The winner of the award will present the paper in a plenary session at the conference). A cover letter to the General Chair/Track Chair must identify the paper as a candidate for this competition at the time of submission.
