Monira Essa Aloud is an assistant professor in the Department of Management Information SystemsCollege of Business AdministrationKing Saud University. She received her PhD from the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering (CSEE) at University of Essex (UK) in 2013. She received her MSc in E-Commerce Technology from the same university in 2008 and her BSc in Information Technology from King Saud University in 2006. She is a member of the Computational Finance and Economics Research Laboratory, Centre for Computational Finance and Economic Agents (CCFEA) at the University of Essex.

 

While in CSEE, she worked on a variety of projects which the include high-frequency finance project and the directional changes project. She has worked on research projects with Olsen Ltd. from March 2009 – October 2011.



Aloud has a broad research interest in the use of artificial intelligence to business applications such as finance. Her research focuses on machine learning for data modelling and analysis, computational finance and economics, algorithmic trading, social media mining, collection and analysis of large-scale data, agent-based modelling, simulation and recommendation technologies.
