MIS 366 Web Based Application

 

Course description:  This course introduces the principles of designing and developing web applications for e-commerce.

 

Learning outcomes: By the end of the course the student will have insight into the key modern server side system ASP.NET, with a focus on the C# programming language for the development of e-commerce Web applications. In addition, the student will have an insight into key XML technologies. After completing the course, students will be expected to be able to:

  1.   Define and describe the main requirements for an e-commerce application, along with identifying the issues involved in their design.
  2. Evaluate the strengths of design routes, components and tools used in the developing of the e-commerce application.
  3.   Understand the basic of web Applications; HTML Forms as user interfaces; and client side programming with C#.
  4. Apply Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for providing stylistic information to Webpages.
  5. Understand the roles of client-side and server-side programming techniques.
  6.   Understand database access technologies and data controls.
  7.  Design and implement n-tier in ASP.NET.
  8.  Understand XML technologies and their use in applications.
