CHE 312/CHE 315: Momentum Transport Operations
CHE 312/CHE 315: Momentum Transport Operations deals with the study of concept of momentum and mechanical energy transport of fluids, by examining fluid statics and dynamics, viscosity, fluid friction, pumping, settling, and flow through porous media. The course presents also definitions of non-Newtonian fluids, and discusses dimensional analysis. In addition to lectures, it offers lab sessions that support the theoretical knowledge related to friction losses in pipes and fitting, and pump performance. A good understanding of the material in this course is essential for the study and understanding of chemical engineering.
