DEH 214 - Dental Anatomy (Practical)
Credit Hours: 4
Introduction and study of tooth morphology and related terminology. Anatomy of the head and neck with emphasis on the structure and functional relationships in the oral cavity. Lectures will provide knowledge in areas of: temporomandibular joint function, muscles of mastication, permanent and deciduous dentition and supporting anatomical structures and concepts of occlusion.

Week 1: Course orientation
Week 2: Introduction to the anatomy and morphology of teeth and tooth carving
Week 3: lab exercise - Carving a central incisor
Week 4: lab exercise - Continue carving the incisor
Week 5: lab exercise - Carving a canine
Week 6: lab exercise - Continue carving the canine
Week 7: lab exercise - Carving a premolar
Week 8: lab exercise - Continue carving the premolar
Week 9: lab exercise - Carving a molar
Week 10: lab exercise - Continue carving a molar
Week 11: Head and neck anatomy assignment
Week 12: Review of head and neck anatomy assignment and revison
Week 13: Practical final exam
