أبوعزة المحمدي حاصل على درجة الدكتوراة الفلسفية من المدرسة العليا للدراسات المتقدمة من دولة ايطاليا و التي تعد من أبرز مراكز الأبحاث في ميدان الفيزياء الفلكية في أوروبا. كما عملت بعد حصولي على الدكتوراة لعدة سنوات كباحث مشارك في كل من المرصد الفلكي ل ترييستي و المركز العالمي للفيزياء النظرية في دولة ايطاليا و كذلك كباحث زائر في المرصد الفلكي الأوروبي في دولة ألمانيا؛ قبل التحاقي بوحدة الفيزياء الفلكية بجامعة الملك سعود في أبريل 2008 .

الاهتمامات البحثية الحالية CURRENT RESEARCH INTERESTS
My main interest in Astrophysics (Observations and Theory), generally spans the following topics
Observational techniques; Solar Physics; Stellar evolution and Supernovae and some applications in Cosmology
1. Solar Astrophysics:
Starting 2012/2013 we built (KSU astronomy unit) a research group focusing on studying and
analyzing Solar observations and probing related physical phenomena. With that respect, I am interested
to some solar activity aspects, namely
− Solar Active regions development and structure
− Magnetic field manifestations and eruptive phenomena
− Solar imaging and appropriate data processing techniquess
− Solar cycle parameteres and tracers
2. Properties of Core Collapse Supernovae
- Similarities and diversities among them and the connection to their progenitor stars and the relevant physics
- Particular interest in type II Plateau events
- Spectral analysis: nucleosynthesis of elements
- Photometric evolution: multi-band light curves, bolometric behaviours
- Cosmological use of supernovae
