(In preparation). الأنشطة العلمية والتدريسية بالقسم: 1- استقطاب واحد من أبرز علماء النمل في العالم وهو الدكتور Brian Fisher رئيس قسم الحشرات بأكاديمية كاليفورنيا للعلوم للمشركة في دراسة النمل في المملكة العربية السعودية. 2- تنظيم دورات تدريبية لطلبة الدراسات العليا لتعليمهم كيفية عمل مجموعات مرجعية لأنواع النمل المختلفة. 3- قام سعادة الدكتور شرف بوضع نواة لأول مجموعة علمية مرجعية لأنواع النمل من المملكة وهي موجودة في متحف قسم وقاية النيات وهي الأولى من نوعها في دول شبه الجزيرة العربية ويتوقع أن تكون مزاراً هاماً لكل المهتمين بعلم النمل في المنطقة. وهذه المجموعة تحتوي على عينات نمطية للأنواع الجديدة المكتشفة من المنطقة وهي ذات أهمية بالغة لكل الدارسين لعلم النمل في المنطقة العربية. 4- قامت جريدة رسالة الجامعة بنشر نتائج بحوث الدكتور شرف في مقالات متفرقة منذ انضم سعادته للجامعة.( المقالات مرفقة). 5- تدريس بعض المحاضرات لطلبة الدراسات العليا (دكتوراه). 6- تقديم الإستشارات العلمية المتختلفة المتعلقة بأنواع النمل لأعضاء هيئة التدريس والباحثين وطلبة الدراسات العليا. 7- القيام بالعديد من الأعمال الإدراية المختلفة التي تتعلق بالمراسلات الرسمية بين وحدة بحوث الحشرات الإقتصادية والجهات الأخرى بالجامعة وخارجها. 8- تقديم محاضرات لطلبة الدراسات العليا بوحدة بحوث الحشرات الإقتصادية تتعلق بعلم تصنيف النمل. 9- إمداد طلبة الدراسات العليا بوحدة بحوث الحشرات الإقتصادية بالمراجع الأساسية في علم تصنيف النمل وتكوين مكتبة إلكترونية خاصة بها. 10- حضورورشة العمل "سوسة النخيل الحمراء.التحدي" سابك" 30-31/3/2010. 11- حضور ورشة العمل الثامنة حول" كيف تبحث في شبكة معلومات ISI" جامعة الملك سعود، 9/5/2010. 12- حضور ورشة العمل حول "توزيع نملة السمسوم في المملكة العربية السعودية واستخدام السم في معالجة سرطان الثدي" قسم علم الحيوان، كلية العلوم، جامعة الملك سعود/ 24-25/5/2010. 13- حضور ورشة عمل بعنوان " تحفيز الطلاب للتعلم في قاعات كبيرة" جامعة الملك سعود، 3/11/2010. المشاريع البحثية: 1- باحث مشارك في مشروع بحثي لدراسة النمل من الجنس Solenopsis في منطقه الرياض وتم تقديم هذا المقترح البحثي للجهة الداعمة. 2- باحث في مشروع دراسة محميات المنطقة الجنوبية في المملكة وتم تقديم هذا المقترح البحثي للجهة الداعمة. 3- مستشار في مشروع دراسة الحشرات في منطقة الباحة والمدعوم من جامعة الباحة (الباحث الرئيس الأستاذ الدكتور مجدي الحواجري-كلية المجتمع-جامعة الباحة). الجوائز: 1. اختيار منظمة "من هو" العالمية “Who’s Who in the World” المعنية بنشر السير الذاتية للأفراد لنشر سيرتي الذاتية في العدد الخاص بها لعامي 2010، 2012. 2. شهادة تكريم من قسم وقاية النبات للنشر المتميز لعام 2011. 3. شهادات تكريم من وحدة بحوث الحشرات الإقتصادية للنشر المتميز لأعوام 2011، 2012، 2013
