Hany A. Al-Ansary

Dr. Hany Al-Ansary is an associate professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at King Saud University. He received his PhD degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2004. He is currently involved in a number of research projects in solar thermal energy, including parabolic trough collectors, power towers, and solar desalination. His work resulted in 2 patents, 10 patent applications and about 25 journal and conference papers. He also received international innovation awards in the fields of desalination and solar energy. He is KSU’s principal investigator in a SunShot award funded by the US Department of Energy. He was also the leader of a KSU technical team collaborating with the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) for transferring multiple effect distillation (MED) technology and developing a Saudi national design guide for MED plants.
