This course improves the level of comprehension & understanding, which enables the students to deal effectively with sophisticated reading materials of both scientific & medical nature

 

Previewing enables the students to find important information quickly from any text before reading it

Scanning teaches the students how to find precise information by reading very quickly

Skimming strategy teaches the students how to get the general sense of a passage

Guessing meaning from the context for new vocabulary enriches their knowledge and understanding

Finding topics and the main idea statements will enhance their comprehension level of sophisticated passages

Identifying patterns of organizations will take them a step a head

 

There will be the ability to differentiate between reading strategies. Also,  how to differentiate between the topic sentence, the topic and the main idea statement
