Writing Software

The student is encouraged to use Scientific WorkPlace software to write her research project. The software is available on all machines in the computer lab of the Department of Mathematics. The main features of the program include:

   ∙  A friendly-user interface to write mathematical notations.

  ∙  A built-in algebra system to preform computations.

  ∙  A collection of built-in document shells for writing reports, theses, etc.

  ∙  A built-in PDF converter to create a PDF version of the original document. 

  ∙  With Beamer support files (available in version 5.5), the program can be easily used to create presentation slides in PDF format.
