Translation Project

This course aims at enabling students to practice translation through translating 100 pages of a book of their selection during the entire academic semester. The student is expected to be placed in a special position to resolve the various problems and difficulties. A special focus is also placed on terminology, lexical borrowing and coinages, abbreviations and acronyms, and Arabicization. The student should translate in a piecemeal fashion by translating 10-15 pages fortnightly and submitting it to his/her instructor for discussion and feedback.
