This course is an introductory course to writing essays specifically, the compare and contrast essay and the example essay. Students will be able to apply the use of a writing sequence: prewriting activities, brainstorming, outlining, and ending with drafting, and editing. Students also will be able to properly write a four paragraph essay, consisting of an introduction, two developmental paragraphs and a conclusion on unseen topics. The classes will emphasize active student participation and give plenty of opportunities for student leadership of discussion.
