This course is the second course in a series of three courses in geriatric physical therapy for graduate students. It is designed to provide master students with principles of cultural conceptions of the aging process, public health and aging and chronic disease in older adults.
This course is intended to provide the skills necessary for physical therapist to manage geriatric patient with different pathological conditions and dysfunctions. The course is expected to cover aspects of patient management (examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis and intervention) in the area of geriatric physical therapy.
This course is intended to reinforce the clinical application of principles of treatment and therapeutic skills to patients with cardiovascular, pulmonary and neurological diseases and also to train the students how to write a report on a selected clinical problem and how to work independently.
