Despite the large diversity of the migratory and resident avifauna of the Arabian Peninsula, relatively few species have been sampled for chewing lice. In this study, three breeding species of Suliformes, Phalacrocorax nigrogularis Ogilvie-Grant & Forbes, Sula dactylatra Lesson and Sula leucogaster (Boddaert) were examined for chewing lice.

Background: Few studies showed that Dracaena cinnabari resin, collected from Soqotra Island, Yemen, has antimicrobial activity. This study is the first to investigate antimicrobial activity of the resin on both antibiotic multi-resistant human pathogens and on poly-microbial culture.

This study was conducted to investigate the structuring of two sympatric and coflowering acacia species - Acacia ehrenbergiana (Hayne) and Acacia tortilis (Forsk.) - in relation to their flowering period distribution, floral reward partitioning, nectar secretion dynamics, and visitor assemblages. This research was performed in an arid climatic zone of the Arabian Peninsula (Saudi Arabia).

A total of 72 Apis melllifera jemenitica honeybee samples were collected from eight 
different provinces within Saudi Arabia. Samples consisted of adult worker bees and capped 
brood cells. All samples were analyzed to estimate Varroa destructor mite infestation levels, 
and isolated V. destructor mites (n= 90) were subjected to DNA analysis. Results revealed 
that all colonies sampled in this survey were infested with V. destructor mites. The overall 
averageinfestation levels were 5.5±4.8% and 13.1±10.6% on adult worker bees
