Primary constituents of calcium carbonate sediments and their mineralogical composition. Classification of carbonate rocks and petrographic properties of limestones. Identification of carbonate minerals by staining methods. Diagenesis of carbonate sediments. Study of marine and terrestrial evaporites, their type, conditions of formations, and their petrographic properties, geologic significance and economic importance of evaporites.
