The course provides an overview of the different approaches to the study of discourse. It focuses on particular areas of interest in the field such as the relationship between language and context, cultural-specific ways of speaking and writing, as well as ways of organizing texts in particular social and cultural situations.
Students are introduced to: Binary systems; Computer symbols; Logic; Arithmetic systems; Groups, relations, and Boolean Algebra; Logical gates, logical circuits an their simplification; Arrays and matrices; Linear equations
