Structural and Spectroscopic Characterization of PM 597 Dye-Silica Core-Shell Nanoparticles

Nanostructured fluorescent pyrromethene (PM) doped-silica core-shell particles were successfully prepared by Stöber process. The average size of the particles was in the range of 10–20 nm measured by TEM micrograph. The atomic structure and morphology of PM 597/SiO2 core/shell nanoparticles were studied by AFM and SEM, respectively. Absorption and emission spectra of the PM 597/SiO2 core/shell nanoparticles under the UV irradiation were studied and not significantly influenced at the position of peaks.

Invoking the frequency dependence in square modulated light intensity techniques for the measurement of electron time constants in dye-sensitized solar cells

Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) have been considered as one of the most promising new generation solar cells. Enormous research efforts have been invested to improve the efficiency of solar energy conversion which is determined by the light harvesting efficiency, electron injection efficiency and undesirable electron lifetime. A simple, cheap and trustable laser-induced photovoltage and photocurrent decay (LIPVCD) technique is adopted in this work in order to determine the electron lifetime (τe) and electron transport (τtr) in DSSCs.

Effect of Laser Exposure on Structural and Optical Properties of CdO and Li Doped CdO Nano Structured Thin Film Synthesized by Sol Gel Method

Nano structured thin film of CdO and Li doped CdO have been synthesized by sol–gel spin–coating method on amorphous glass substrates. The samples were irradiated with laser beam from pulsed Q-switched Nd:YAG laser of pulse width of 7 ns and repetition rate of 10 Hz at wavelength of 1064 nm. Effect of laser irradiation on structural and optical properties of these samples was investigated. The laser irradiation effect on morphology and microstructure was carried out with scanning microscope (SEM) and XRD respectively. Grain sizes were calculated with Scherrer formula.

Band-gap tuning of lead halide perovskite using a single step spin-coating deposition process

In this paper, we present a study of the structural and optical properties of organic–inorganic halide-based perovskite semiconductors with band gaps varying from NIR to visible at room temperature. Thin films of nanocrystalline CH3NH3PbI3 with different concentrations of methylammonium iodide (MAI) have been successfully deposited onto glass substrates using single step spin-coating technique. The prepared films have been characterized by X-ray diffraction, optical absorption spectroscopy and photoluminescence measurements.
