increasing prevalence of drug-resistant C. albicans, there is
an urgent need to develop alternative treatments for Candida
infections that are safe, effective and inexpensive.
Among all of the strategies that have been exploited to
overcome drug resistance, the use of natural substances
has shown particular promise, and many natural substances
have been found to have antifungal properties (9). Bee
products such as honey and propolis are rich sources of

Propolis is a resinous natural substance produced
by honeybees from plant exudates, beeswax,
and bee secretions. Propolis is composed of 50% resin,
30% wax, 10% essential and aromatic oils, 5% pollen,
and 5% other substances. However, the composition
varies according to the geographical and plant sources, and the collection season. The main function
of propolis in honey bee hives is to control temperature,
light, and humidity. Furthermore, it protects
hives from pathogens and some colony invaders.

The common method for the characterization and classification of honey bee subspecies is based mainly on measuring honey bee wing characters, which were considered as strong tool (Rattanawannee et al., 2010). Various honey bee colonies, races and species were discriminated by employing morphometric analysis  (Moradi and Kandemir, 2004; Raina and  Kimbu, 2005; Farhoud and Kence, 2005; Shaibi  et al., 2009; Rattanawannee et al., 2010; Nedić et al., 2011).

Purpose: Hybrid imaging has proven to be a major innovation in medical diagnosis. In nuclear medicine hybrid imaging allows the fusion of functional information with anatomical detail, however clinical studies have mainly been been carried out with large whole body scanning instruments. We have developed and characterised a compact small field of view hybrid camera of weight approximately 1kg. The camera consists of a CsI(Tl) columnar scintillator coupled to an electron multiplying CCD.
