Automatic Speech Recognition of Pathological Voice

Automatic speech recognition (ASR) benefits human beings in many useful applications. Various ASR systems exhibiting good performance have been developed for normal speakers. The speech produced by a voice disordered patient is not like a normal speaker due to irregular vibration and incomplete closure of vocal fold. Therefore, an investigation is required by exploring the different speech features to develop an ASR system which can perform well for both pathological and normal speakers.

Classification of genome data using Random Forest Algorithm: Review

Random Forest is a popular machine learning tool for classification of large datasets. The Dataset classified with Random Forest Algorithm (RF) are correlated and the interaction between the features leads to the study of genome interaction. The review is about RF with respect to its variable selection property which reduces the large datasets into relevant samples and predicting the accuracy for the selected variable.

Classification of large datasets using Random Forest Algorithm in various applications: Survey

Random Forest is an ensemble of classification algorithm widely used in much application especially with larger datasets because of its outstanding features like Variable Importance measure, OOB error detection, Proximity among the feature and handling of imbalanceddatasets. This paper discusses many applications which use Random Forest to classify the dataset like Network intrusion detection, Email spam detection, gene classification, Credit card fraud detection, and Text classification.

Voice and Unvoiced Classification Using Fuzzy Logic

In this paper, we proposed a system for automatic classification of speech. A speech signal contains three different regions voiced, unvoiced and silence. In the proposed system, Zero-Crossing rate and short term energy are used in a fuzzy logic control this classification. Arabic digits of the KSU database is used to test our proposed method. The proposed method achieves 2.5 % error between human classification and automatic classification using this method.

Synchronizing Data through Update Queries in Interoperable E-Health and Technology Enhanced Learning Data Sharing Systems

Data interoperability and synchronization among heterogeneous data providers in collaborative e-health systems are challenging research issues. Efficient data management techniques promote an efficient way of sharing data. This paper describes existing approaches to data interoperability (platform independency) for exchanging and synchronizing data between heterogeneous data sources or various platforms. We also illustrate an update query execution protocol, which can reduce query execution cost and query response time.

QoS-adaptive service configuration framework for cloud-assisted video surveillance systems

Quality of service (QoS)-adaptive service configuration is crucial for seamless access to video services in cloud-assisted video surveillance systems. To maintain seamless access to video on a user’s preferred device, suitable video transcoding services are needed. It is a challenging task to choose and configure these services for various devices to ensureQoS-adaptive user experiences. To configure these services for the desired user devices, a suitable configuration algorithm is needed.

Visual Tracking in Unknown Environments Using Fuzzy Logic and Dead-Reckoning

This paper addresses the problem of making a nonholonomic wheeled mobile robot (WMR) move to a target object using computer vision and obstacle-avoidance techniques. If a priori information about the obstacles is available, pre-planning the desired path can be a good candidate method. However, in so many cases, obstacles are dynamic. Therefore, our first challenge is to make the WMR move to a desired target while autonomously avoiding any obstacle along its path.

Prediction of mycoplasma hominis proteins targeting in mitochondria and cytoplasm of host cells and their implication in prostate cancer etiology

Although the idea of bacteria causing different types of cancer has exploded about century ago, the potential mechanisms of carcinogenesis is still not well established. Many reports showed the involvement of M. hominis in the development of prostate cancer, however, mechanistic approach for growth and development of prostate cancer has been poorly understood. In the current study, we predicted M. hominis proteins targeting in the mitochondria and cytoplasm of host cells and their implication in prostate cancer. A total of 77 and 320 proteins from M.
