The emphasis throughout will be on focused treatment and study, and scientific investigation and analysis. Helped by advisors, the students must develop the theoretical knowledge, methodological research, and analytical tools related to the chosen topic.
This course introduces the students to the key concepts that make up human resource management practices within the organization. It emphasizes on the different options for attracting, retaining and developing employees and ensuring that organizations meet their legal and ethical obligations in relation to workforce management.
Managerial Economics is the application of economic theory and methodology to managerial decision making problems within various organizational settings such as a firm or a government agency. The emphasis in this course will be on demand analysis and estimation, production and cost analysis under different market conditions, forecasting and decision making under uncertainty. Students taking this course are expected to have had some exposure to economics and be comfortable with basic algebra. Some knowledge of calculus would also be helpful although not necessary.
This course emphasizes on building students’ analytical skills for developing mathematical models for decision-making. The course provides an introduction to Management Science (Operations Research) concepts and analysis techniques for mathematical programming and decision-making. Basic computers skills of Excel and Statistics are necessary to solve the problems discussed in the lectures. The course emphasis is on problem formulation, model building, data analysis, solution techniques, and evaluation of alternative designs/processes in complex systems.
