Overlap  of  insect  growth  regulator  (cyromazine)  concentration,  treatment  method  and rearing 

Changes in physical, chemical, microbial and enzymatic parameters were monitored during the composting of organic fraction of municipal solid wastes under compost plant normal operating conditions (CPNOC) (pile size, moisture and turning were not adjusted) and compost plant adjusted conditions (CPAC) (pile size (1.5 m height and 3.0 m width), then moisture (40-60%) and turning (twice a week)).The results showed that the temperature reached its maximum (71.5 and 65.5 o C) after 26 and 19 days in the CPNOC and CPAC, respectively; then decreased.

In this study we investigated the effects of different cryomazine concentrations and host type on the biology  of  the  southern  cowpea  weevil  Callosobruchus  maculatus  F.  (Coleoptera:  Bruchidae).  Our results showed that increasing cryomazine concentration led to the increase in the average incubation period of eggs and low hatching rate, reaching the highest average of egg incubation period 13.25 days for  insects  reared  on  a  mung  beans  treated with cryomazine  concentration of  3  and  5%.

Methanol  extracts  of  different  plants  namely,  Trichodesma  africanum  (Boraginaceae),  Cleome rupicola(Capparceae)  and  Ochradenus  baccatus(Resedaceae),  were tested  for  larvicidal activity  against  4th instar larvae  of  Aedes  caspius and  Culex  pipiens  mosquitoes.  All  plant  extracts tested against  Ae.  caspius showed  100% mortality  at  10µg/ml  except  the  stem  of  O.  baccatus  which  showed  90%  mortality.  However,  most  of  the  plant extracts tested against Cx. pipiensshowed more than 50% mortalityat 10µg/ml. Ae.caspiusreported lower LD50 than Cx. pipiens.
