This course provides a concise history of British literature from the age of Chaucer to the present day. It deals briefly with the earlier periods and more fully with the later landmark periods in the literature of Great Britain. It focuses on the prose, poetry, and drama of Great Britain within a chronological framework. Attention is focused upon the major writers of each period and genre, laying emphasis on the course of development and the leading characteristics throughout the history of British literature.

This course traces the philosophical and critical development of Western thought in its particular relation to “Art”. The critical selections cover the classical conception of Art, Renaissance and the age of Reason, and the Romantic period. Major orientations of criticism are also emphasized as they developed from classical periods to the 19th century.

يعنى هذا المقرر بطرح بعض القضايا والمشكلات في تدريس العلوم الشرعية والقراءة الناقدة لها , وإيجاد الحلول التي تواجه طرق تعليم العلوم الشرعية وتدريب الطالبة على القيام بإجراء دراسات تحليلية نقدية لإحدى المشكلات المرتبطة بمناهج وتعليم العلوم الشرعية , ومناقشة أهم المشكلات محليا وعربيا وعالميا , والوقوف على كيفية حل ومعالجة بعض المشكلات والقضايا المعاصرة في تدريس العلوم الشرعية.
