 This course emphasizes on the practice of laboratory techniques for diagnosis of infectious diseases caused by bacteria, viruses or fungi. Student will learn techniques used in microbiology laboratories to investigate the etiologic agents from the clinical samples and to study the epidemiology of the infectious diseases. Those techniques include microscopic examination, isolation and identification, antigen detection, antibody detection and nucleic acid-based detection methods.
