Course Description

Knowledge has become a key for organization to success in the new economy. Organisation’s ability to use knowledge assets helps maintaining a sustainable competitive advantage. Consequently, knowledge management (KM) has emerged as a key focus for many modern organisations. 

Databases and database systems are essential items that support many aspects of everyday life in modern society. This course introduces the fundamental concepts of database and database systems, in particular the relational database systems. Also, it covers other important aspects of relational database systems including: database design principles, methodology, and languages. By taking the Fundamentals of Database Systems, student should be able to design a good relation database, giving the data requirement.
