HI 507- Integration, Interoperability, Standards Class

This course will explore the details of healthcare standards, vocabularies, and clinical terminologies. Throughout the course, we will talk about the benefits of integrating healthcare information systems as well as the challenges of integrating healthcare systems across disparate organizations and technologies.  Students will spend the course learning about HL7, SNOMED CT, CDA, LONIC, CDA, CCR, ICD-10, PACS, and DICOM. Students will have a midterm paper about one of the main topics discussed in the course and a final exam on the last day of the course.
