       يتناول المقرر تعريف الجغرافيا السياسية ومفهومها وتطورها ونظرياتها, ويوضح التطور التاريخي للخريطة السياسية للعالم, كما يدرس المقرر نشأة الدولة باعتبارها وحدة سياسية,مكانية وتطورها, والعناصر التي تتألف منها, ويتناول المقرر  الحدود الساسية للدولة وأقسامها, وتطورها وبعض المشكلات الجغرافية السياسية المرتبطة بها, ويدرس التكتلات السياسية في العالم ومعرفة العوامل الجغرافية المؤثرة فيها , ويختتم المقرر بدراسة نماذج من المشكلات السياسية في العالم .
