This course is about modeling tools for manufacturing systems, including activity modeling using IDEF0, information modeling using IDEF1X, modeling of discrete event systems using Petri Nets, and knowledge modeling using expert systems.

This course is an introduction to control theory and automation technologies. It includes an introduction to data representation and numbering in digital systems, digital gates, computer logics, actuators and sensors, including electric, hydraulic and pneumatic devices, PLC control, ladder programming, and industrial applications.

The course aimed to provide well understood the fundamentals of Visual and event driven programming, essential components of programs' interface: Forms, Command, Dialog Box, etc.; Building complete applications using Visual Basic.
