this course provides the students with basic theorotical and practical aspects of variouse groups of microorganism to include bacteriology, virology, mycology, and parasitology as well as basic concepts of immunology and epidemyology. it also introduces the basic consept of disinfectants, antiseptics, preservatives, Ames test, methodes of sterilization, aseptic techniques and general microbial control
in this course the studetns will learn about the fungi (moldes and yeasts) of medical importnace and the disease they causes. the classfication, structure physiology, and culture charachterstic of fungi will be discussed. emphasis in this course will be on the fungal disease and their clinical presentation, pathogensis, modes of transmission, laboroty diagnosis and control.
