Medical genetics

The course is designed to provide a basic understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects of medical genetics.  It gives an overview of the important role of genetics in medicine in addition to the various aspects of cytogenetics and molecular biology and the tools used in each area as they apply to the clinical setting.  The course also covers the genetics of cancer and various other disorders. The practical covers basic techniques such as DNA extraction, gel electrophoresis, PCR, and
cloning and their applications in this field
