"Ethics in Dentistry" is a new course for junior dental students, which provides an introduction to ethical understanding in the field of dentistry and offers dental students a framework for ethical decision-making. Ethics is the study of morality, the ability to distinguish between what is “right” from what is “wrong”, and involves an exercise to determine the most morally desirable course of action when confronted with a situation where a decision is required.

SDS 323 PRECLINICAL REMOVABLE PROSTHODONTICS

This is the first course offered in Removable Prosthodontics. It consists of the didactic and practical components concerned with the procedures involved in the construction of both complete and removable partial dentures. The complete denture course is taught in the first semester where the student learns the basic technical aspect of complete denture construction. In the second semester, the course acquaints the students with the principles and sequence of technical procedures involved in the fabrication of removable partial dentures.

SDS 333 PRECLINICAL FIXED PROSTHODONTICS

This is a one year course during the Third Year. It is an introductory course to Fixed Prosthodontics. The course represents the orientation phase to the discipline of fixed prosthodontics (FP). It provides a structured framework for the students to learn the scientific basis and the fundamental principles of FP. It prepares the student for the practice of sound clinical FP through a patient simulation phase of mechanical and technical procedures.
