Recent Advances in Electrochemical Analysis PHC 661

The student will be subjected to the recent concepts and methodologies of the various electrochemical methods such as stripping voltammetry, microelectrodes and biosensors. Application of these methods in the fields of pharmaceutical analysis in biological fluids are stressed. Studies of the new concepts and methodologies of the various electrochemical methods of analysis are applied to pharmaceuticals.

This course is designed to provide the students with the skills necessary to choose the appropriate computer program for the analysis and interpretation of drug quality control data. The course comprises an introduction to the relevant statistical methods in addition to the interactive software computer package programs utilized fro solving the various statistical formulas.

Chemical Kinetics in Drug Analysis PHC 527

The course is tailored to introduce chemical kinetics on experimental and theoretical basis. Kinetic parameters involving order of reaction, rate constant, activation energy and related parameters will be presented. In addition, the use of kinetic methods in quantitation will be elaborated and the link between mechanism and reaction kinetic is highlighted.

Electrochemical Methods in Drug Analysis PHC 525

This course will be devoted to the principles underlying electrochemical methods of analysis and its application in pharmaceuticals analysis. Emphasis will be concentrated on potentiometry and voltammetry and their application to drugs and dosage forms.

Spectroscopic Methods in Drug Analysis PHC 524

This students will be subjected to the application of absorption and emission (fluorescence) spectroscopy. The photolysis of drugs will be also studied. The use of chemical derivatization in both absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy will be conducted.

This course covers the principles of separation of compounds and methods used therefore. Emphasis will be concentrated on liquid chromatography and its application to pharmaceutical compounds, either in dosage forms or biological fluids.

Pharmaceutical Instrumental Analysis PHC 427

The course is designed to give pharmacy students an overview of the various modern
instrumental analytical techniques used in the pharmaceutical research and industry.
Basic principles, components, and operation of each technique will be presented in an
integrative lecture and laboratory sessions.
