PHG220 "Basics of Natural Products" (3+0)

The scope of the course includes preparing the third year students to understand, recognize, diagnose and successfully treat pulpally involved or potentially involved teeth. Important fundamentals are stressed with emphasis on the correlation between basic clinical and biological principles. The course will have two main components:

To train students to perform clinical aspects of endodontic therapy with emphasis on integrating clinical and biological principles. The students will be trained to treat endodontically involved anterior and posterior teeth. In addition, they will be trained to manage endodontic emergencies.

البناء والارتباط الكيميائي - دراسة مختصرة لتسمية وتصنيف وخواص وطرق تحضير وتفاعلات كل من الهيدروكربونات الاليفاتية والاروماتية - الهاليدات العضوية - الكحولات والايثرات - الالدهيدات والكيتونات - الأمينات - الحموض ومشتقاتها - الزيوت والدهون - الكربوهيدرات. - Atomic structures and chemical bonding.

The course aims at introducing students to and training them in reading strategies and skills. It will address the following skills and strategies: mechanics of reading, reading techniques (elementary skimming and scanning), vocabulary skills (use of contextual, syntactic, and morphological clues to improve vocabulary comprehension) and extracting general information.
