The family Molluginaceae (order Caryophyllales) is considered polyphyletic based on the photosynthetic pathway, C4 evolution, and phylogeny of the family. This inference was made based on photosynthetic, anatomical, and molecular datasets. The generic circumscription of this family has greatly been changed owing to the placement of several of its genera into the Caryophyllaceae, Microteaceae, Lophiocarpaceae, and Limeaceae families. However, the generic relationships are largely unknown.
Cissus setosa is an indigenous medicinal herb commonly used for the treatment of gastro ulcers. In the
current investigation the aerial methanolic extract of C. setosa was investigated for their antiulcer activity
using pylorus ligation and ethanol in experimental rats. The extract was administered at the doses of 200
and 400 mg/kg b.w. orally for 3 days. However, higher dose of the extract subsequently reduced gastric
ulcer induced aberrations by pylorus ligation (70.05%) and ethanol (78.16%) as judged by their altered
We described a three-dimensional Mn3O4 microcubes (3D–Mn3O4MCs) synthesised via a facile hydrothermal route for the determination of nimorazole (NMZ), an important drug that used in the treatment of head and neck cancer. The 3D–Mn3O4MCs possess large active area and high conductivity, and 3D–Mn3O4 MCs film modified screen-printed carbon electrode (3D–Mn3O4MCs/SPCE) was fabricated which displayed excellent electrocatalytic ability towards NMZ.
Advances in mobile phone technology and its applications coupled with equally robust
growth of telecommunication technology can serve to give patients a better access to the
healthcare. More and more healthcare providers and patients started using these applications.
Mobile applications are useful in handling various aspects of healthcare namely,
health promotion and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and supporting
health services. Clinical studies evaluating mobile applications often come up
tNeratinib (NER) and pelitinib (PEL) are irreversible tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) that have beenrecently employed in cancer treatment. Apigenin (API), among other flavonoids, is known to haveantioxidant, anti-proliferative, and carcinogenic effect. API can potentiate the antitumor effect ofchemotherapeutic agents and/or alleviate the side effects of many anticancer agents. Since TKIs aremostly metabolized by CYP3A4 enzymes and that API could alter the enzymatic activity, potential druginteractions could be expected following their co-aministration.
Background: Ombitasvir/paritaprevir/ritonavir/dasabuvir (Viekira Pak®) are the newest medicines approved for use in the treatment of hepatitis C virus (HCV) and are available in tablet form as an oral combination. Specifically, these agents are indicated in the treatment of HCV in patients with genotype 1 infection. Due to the therapeutic importance and increased use of Viekira Pak, proper methods for its determination in bulk and pharmaceutical formulations must be developed.
